Job description

Location: Multiple Campuses
Work Schedule: June 3, 2026 - July 31, 2026
Work Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $17.00/ hour
Summer Camp locations:
Encino Park Elementary
Hardy Oak Elementary
Vineyard Ranch Elementary
Wetmore Elementary
Camp location is not guaranteed upon employment. May be moved as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
or current Junior or Senior student in the North East Independent School District
Experience working with children
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Works directly with elementary and/or middle school students to provide academic enrichment and recreational activities in accordance with Kids' Involvement Network curriculum plans, and policies and procedures of North East Independent School District.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Camp Hours: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
Shifts will vary depending on needs
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in organization, setup and restoration of facilities in various daily program areas.
2. Assists in organizing and maintaining supplies and equipment for daily activities.
3. Assists in maintaining supervision of both large and small group activities.
4. Assists in implementation of daily enrichment plans.
5. Supervises group homework activities.
6. Assists in maintaining a clean and neat program area at all times.
7. Participates in all staff training and staff meetings.
8. Maintains confidentiality of information.
9. Reports to work on time every day.
10. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:• Effective oral and written communication skills with both adults and children
• Good organizational and problem- solving skills
• Strong academic background in basic skills
• Ability to function as an integral part of a team
• Ability to oversee outdoor recreational activities on a daily basis

The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
