Job description

Overview
Temporary Rotating Equipment Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to support commissioning, startup, and early operations for a new oil and gas development. This role will play a key part in the transition from project execution to safe, reliable operations across a central processing facility, seawater treatment plant for injection, and drill site.
This position will work closely with the client's Production Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and Project and Commissioning Teams to ensure a disciplined, safe, and efficient startup and handover.
This is a temporary position supporting a critical startup phase, with an initial duration of 6 months and potential for extension depending on project needs.
This is a field-based rotational position working 12-hour days, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  • Provide calm, practical troubleshooting during high-pressure startup conditions
  • Bridge the gap between project execution and Operations ownership
  • Ensure rotating equipment is transitioned into reliable, sustainable operation
  • Bring a reliability mindset, not just a commissioning mindset
  • Identify gaps early and proactively drive resolution rather than reacting late
  • Work effectively across disciplines and influence without direct authority
  • Maintain strong field presence and build trust with Operations and Maintenance teams
