Job description

Location: Houston, Texas (hybrid, in office and remote). Markets served are Houston and surrounding areas plus Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Employment Type: Full time, exempt

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission

Reports To: President and Chief Executive Officer

ABOUT TMC

TMC is two companies built on one promise: keep the labor and the freight moving. TMC Workforce Solutions, doing business as TMC Staffing, is a national temporary staffing and recruiting firm specializing in light industrial warehouse talent. TMC Supply Chain Solutions delivers Tier 1 and Tier 2 warehousing and logistics support from facilities in Houston, Texas and Fort Wayne, Indiana, with service lines that include procurement services, kitting and packaging, storage, cross docking, and distribution. TMC Supply Chain Solutions is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and applies Six Sigma discipline to client operations.

Both companies are Nationally Certified Minority Business Enterprises, a credential that opens doors inside corporate supplier diversity programs and gives our sales team a real advantage in the room.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a rare seat. You are not selling one service into one market. You carry two complementary offerings into the same rooms, which means one relationship can produce two revenue streams. A plant manager who needs 40 warehouse associates this quarter may need cross dock capacity next quarter. The Sales Executive who sees that is the one who wins here.

You will own the full cycle: build the pipeline, work the market, run the discovery, bring operations and leadership in to structure the offer, close it, and stay close enough to the account to grow it.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

TMC Staffing (Workforce Solutions)

  • Identify, pursue, and close light industrial warehouse staffing opportunities across Houston and the surrounding markets.
  • Prospect distribution centers, third party logistics providers, manufacturers, and e-commerce fulfillment operations that run high volume warehouse labor.
  • Conduct on site walkthroughs, build accurate job orders, and translate client volume and shift needs into staffing solutions our recruiting team can fill.
  • Present TMC approved rates and contract terms to clients and route any client specific requests back to leadership for approval.
  • Partner with recruiting and on site service teams so the accounts you sell get filled, get serviced, and get renewed.

TMC Supply Chain Solutions

  • Win new customers seeking Tier 1 and Tier 2 warehousing support in the Houston, Texas and Fort Wayne, Indiana markets.
  • Sell the full service line: procurement services, kitting and packaging, storage, cross docking, and distribution.
  • Qualify opportunities against our facility footprint, capacity, and capabilities, and bring operations into the deal early so what we promise is what we can deliver.
  • Support responses to RFPs, RFQs, and supplier diversity solicitations, including corporate Tier 1 and Tier 2 spend programs where our MBE certification is a qualifying advantage.
  • Build multi year relationships with supply chain, procurement, and logistics decision makers rather than chasing one time transactional work.

Across Both Companies

  • Own a written market plan and a forecast you can defend, with weekly pipeline reporting to the CEO.
  • Keep activity, opportunities, and account records current in the CRM.
  • Look for the cross sell in every account and every conversation.
  • Represent TMC at industry associations, chambers, supplier diversity councils, and networking events in both markets.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Eight or more years of business to business sales experience in staffing, logistics, warehousing, third party logistics, or supply chain services.
  • An established book of business and active relationships you can bring with you and activate quickly.
  • A documented record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets, with the numbers to back it up.
  • Command of the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution design, proposal, and close.
  • Working knowledge of the Houston industrial market. Familiarity with the Fort Wayne and greater Midwest logistics corridor is a strong plus.
  • Comfort selling to operations, procurement, human resources, and executive buyers, often in the same deal.
  • Self direction. This role is hybrid, and results matter more than a desk chair.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentations to executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the assigned markets. Occasional travel to Fort Wayne is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience selling into corporate supplier diversity or Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier programs.
  • Background in high volume light industrial staffing.
  • Experience responding to formal RFPs and managing enterprise procurement cycles.
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 environments, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Bachelor degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience earned in the field.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and book of business.
  • Commission plan that activates once the business you win covers the cost of the position, with real upside from there and no cap on what you can earn.
  • Hybrid schedule, split between the office and remote work.
  • TMC provided computer and mobile phone. All TMC business is conducted on TMC equipment.
  • Two revenue lines to sell instead of one, which means more ways to make your number.
  • Direct access to the CEO and a short path from idea to decision.
