Description

Position Title: Temporary Teacher 

Overview: The Temporary Teacher is responsible for the continuity of teaching and learning in the extended absence of the regular teacher and assumes all the responsibilities of such under the direction of a certified educator.

Employment Schedule: Temporary (As Needed) 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develops lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
  • Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
  • Provides students and parents with timely data for improvement in student achievement.
  • Uses appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.
  • Demonstrates positive classroom results and trends. Develops a climate and culture of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support and inquiry.
  • Works effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students' learning and well-being.
  • Organizes students for effective instruction.
  • Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and county policies.
  • Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Complies with and supports school and state regulations and policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/state policies and practices.

Compensation: $190/day
