About the role

A well-established Brooklyn nonprofit is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role supporting general ledger reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close within a stable, mission-driven organization with direct visibility to senior finance leadership.


What you'll actually do

  • Perform general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage AP and AR processes including invoice processing, payment runs, and collections support
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain accurate financial records within the organization's accounting systems
  • Collaborate with finance team members on ad hoc reporting and reconciliation projects as needed


What we're looking for

  • Solid experience with general ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR processes
  • Proficiency in Yardi and/or NetSuite required
  • Home care industry experience a plus
  • Public accounting or accounting firm background a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
