ADay in theLife

As a Laboratory Technician I in our Richmond, VA lab,you'llbe responsible forassistingmultiple projects where you will haveincreasinginteraction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatoryagenciesand clients. You will be part ofa strong teamof committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $19.00 to $20.00, commensuratewith experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule: full-time shift, Sun to Wed (initial training Mon-Fri 8hrs/day)

To thrive in this role,you'llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPs
  • Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
  • Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
  • Completes inventory and order inventory as needed.
  • Occasional driving for pick ups
  • Manages production of bottle preparation and shipments.
  • Assists in sample bottle preparation
  • Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
  • Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
  • Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
  • Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program
  • Comply with Onterris Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or GED. Associate's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications preferred.
  • Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass screen drug testing
  • Proficient in computers and database software
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Well organized and have an attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift sample containers, such as coolers, up to 50lbs
