Job description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Soils & Materials Lab Assistant to join our team in Lynchburg full-time. This role involves preserving and securing field samples, mastering relevant standards and procedures, using gINT software, ensuring equipment calibration, and overseeing soil and concrete testing.
Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in OSHA regulations and prioritizes workplace safety
  • Must have a valid drivers license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Preserve and secure all field samples
  • Master ASTM/AASHTO/VDOT standards and procedures
  • Become proficient with gINT software
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment
  • Report concerns or damages to equipment
  • Oversee soil and concrete testing according to standards
  • Perform quality control audits for compliance with accreditation standards
