Job description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Soils & Materials Lab Assistant to join our team in Lynchburg full-time. This role involves preserving and securing field samples, mastering relevant standards and procedures, using gINT software, ensuring equipment calibration, and overseeing soil and concrete testing.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience
- Ability to lead a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
- Proficient in OSHA regulations and prioritizes workplace safety

-Must have a valid drivers license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience.
Responsibilities:
- Preserve and secure all field samples
- Master ASTM/AASHTO/VDOT standards and procedures
- Become proficient with gINT software
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment
- Report concerns or damages of equipment
- Oversee soil and concrete testing according to standards
- Perform quality control audits for compliance with accreditation standards

Estimated Base Pay Range: $20 - $23 per hour

How We Determine Pay: Final compensation within this range is determined in good faith and is based on objective factors. These include the candidates specialized skills, level of experience, geographic location, and specific educational background or certifications.

Additional Compensation: This position will be eligible for 401(k) matching and ownership through our ESOP and may also be eligible for incentive pay subject to company performance and performance-based raises.
