Description
As a Software Engineer at Verily, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing products that are focused on the promise of precision health. Verily's core strategy to advance precision health is by closing the gap between research and care. The Verily Me team is building exciting technology for our Patients/Participants that drive engagement and unlock user value. We are a team of full-stack and backend developers building an amazing platform that delivers personalized, data driven experiences.
Responsibilities
  • Ship Scalable Features: Design, build, and test high-quality components powering Verily's data-driven health platforms.
  • Optimize System Reliability: Diagnose and eliminate complex software defects, prioritizing root-cause fixes over temporary patches.
  • Own Project Delivery: Drive features autonomously from concept to execution, creating structured development plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner across engineering and product teams to define requirements and architect innovative solutions.
  • Scale Your Impact: Master ambiguous problem spaces, generating technical ideas that expand your scope beyond just writing code.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of experience as a software developer in an industry setting.
  • 2+ years of experience experience with React.
  • Expertise in building software and systems on any of: GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP preferred).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with Go, TypeScript, and/or SQL.
  • Experience with designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines with BigQuery or other analytics-oriented databases.
  • Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.

Qualified applicants must not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $128,000- $192,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
