Electrical Engineer -Japanese English Bilingual

Fredericktown, OH

STRATEGIC SUMMARY:

Optimize production processes for maximum efficiency through the analysis of process/material flow, downtime and scrap reports, capacity studies, and new technology. This includes hands on trouble shooting, root cause analysis of recurring issues, research of new technology, etc. Duties are performed under general supervision and may require frequent conferences concerning progress and difficulties.

TACTICAL SUMMARY:

  • Apply the principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to design, develop, maintain and improve electrical systems, and evaluate system's safety, reliability and performance
  • Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical engineering codes
  • Technical expert of intended machine and part function in assigned working area(s)
  • Lead investigation of existing manufacturing equipment improvements related to: safety, quality, efficiency, capacity, layout, etc.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet capability requirements through statistical analysis of dimensional inspection
  • Lead the analysis of manufacturing problems to identify and eliminate the root cause of equipment concerns
  • Lead New Model activity as assigned including: equipment installation, production trials, customer approval, and technical training
  • May work directly with and manage outside contractors
  • Support new technology development including: planning, investigating, scheduling, testing, and enhancement of existing production methods
  • Interface with machines through PLC, HMI, NC, or Robot controllers in order to effectively maintain and modify programs as necessary
  • Develop presentations using appropriate graphs and charts to effectively communicate intended subject matter
  • Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Develop and manage business plan projects
  • Maintain Document and Program (NC, PLC, HMI, Robot, etc.) control in accordance with QMS requirements
  • May design circuit diagrams, NC programs, PLC programs, HMI programs, and robot programs using various software
  • May manage direct reports
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping (COP)
  • Provides leadership and support to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and increase your associates skills and capabilities.
  • All other duties as assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or any combination of equivalent experience and education

2. Experience

  • 5+ years Manufacturing experience in the machining/metal cutting industry or aluminum die casting desired

3. Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Electric Cad
  • PLEX
  • Various PLC, HMI, Motion Control, etc. software as needed

4. Personal/Other Skills

  • Self-starter mentality and ability to work independently
  • Ability to solve complex problems through analysis to propose and implement appropriate countermeasures
  • Basic robotics, PLC, and NC programming knowledge is helpful
  • Basic presentation skills
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities
  • Understand technical drawings including: geometric tolerances, ladder logic, pneumatics, hydraulics, assemblies
  • Working knowledge of safety standards.
