Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - include the following.

  • Partner with Aoyama Seisakusho group of companies to provide products and manufacturing processes to support the North America fastener markets.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, PLCs and equipment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), process simulation & data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Develop and manage process documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, and process control plans.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and deliver technical training to technical and non-technical Team Members.
  • Support problem investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Includes use of poka-yoke devices.
  • Initiate, justify, budget, implement and manage capital projects
  • Support manufacturing process design, equipment selection, capability validation and process maintenance activities.
  • MS Office proficiency – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BS) required with a major in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Science). 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

COMMUNICATION

Effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members and customers. Ability to interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations, write reports, capital appropriation requests, and procedure manuals. Fluent in English. Japanese as a second language is helpful.

PROBLEM-SOLVING

Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges related to manufacturing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
