Position Summary:

The Vice President of Information Technology provides strategic leadership and oversight for all technology services at American Bank, including infrastructure, systems, user support, and administrative computing. This role serves as the bank's lead authority on IT security, risk management, compliance, and technology policy. The VP of IT ensures systems are secure, efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent American Bank in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide leadership and direction for all IT operations, including systems, networks, and user support.
  • Oversee IT security, risk management, and regulatory compliance across all technology functions.
  • Administer network access, including onboarding and offboarding users, managing directory services, email, external systems, and permission levels.
  • Ensure the performance, reliability, and integration of all technology systems and platforms.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term technology and programming strategies aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify system improvements and resolve technical issues.
  • Oversee system maintenance, including hardware deployment, software updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to leadership and staff using formal training and experience in computer systems, software, and programming concepts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, security risks, and emerging technologies.
  • Upholds day-to-day oversight and responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory laws as they relate to functions within their departments.
  • Satisfactorily complete all required compliance bank training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field required.

Experience:

  • 7- 10 years in managing complex computer systems, networks, and enterprise-level technology environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in IT operations or technology management.
  • Experience designing, managing, and troubleshooting networks (e.g., Cisco IOS, Meraki).
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Kali Linux, Nessus) and system hardening.
  • Experience supporting telephony and collaboration systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement technology strategies.
  • Strong background in communicating with and supporting technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Advanced technical and analytical ability to understand, maintain, and upgrade complex computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement to make thoughtful, informed decisions in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Woking knowledge of operating systems, networking (LAN/WAN), security practices, and business systems.


Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with regular travel to branch locations.
  • Standard business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional extended hours for projects or audits.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to communicate effectively (seeing, hearing, speaking).
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to move throughout facilities and lift up to 30 lbs.


Travel Requirements:

  • I understand that even though my primary work assignment will be my main branch; I agree to go to any other location requested by management. I understand that such temporary re-assignment will require the use of my personal vehicle. If I am requested to spend the entire day at a non-primary location, American Bank will pay for my time spent traveling which is inclusive from the time I leave my home to the time I return to my home. In addition, any time that I use my personal vehicle in such travel, I understand that American Bank will reimburse my mileage at the current designated IRS mileage reimbursement rate.
