Job description

Description
Ski Valet is the hub before and after skiing/boarding. As Ski Valet we welcome all guests promptly with a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude to provide a great first and last impression. Ski Valet are responsible for unloading ski/snowboard equipment from guest bell carts and storing all equipment (skis, boots, etc.) as well any other items needed to go out on the mountain. Ski Valet will organize all guest equipment daily label all equipment, prepare equipment and boot racks, organize guest bins and provide daily knowledge of skiing conditions. Ski Valet has multiple attendants working together as a team to best serve our guests and to carry out our high standards of personalized guest service. It is important that we are familiar with some FAQ's: What is the weather forecast today/tomorrow (highs/lows)? Which lifts are open/closed? and Is there any snow in the forecast? There are 3 different stations that are key to the overall success and operation of our Ski Valet Service. Ski Rack Attendant, Ski Valet/Bin & Boot Transporter and Boot Fitter/Bin & Boot Transporter. Ski Valet attendants work together for the common goal of providing the best guest service to our guests. Must possess great guest service and problem-solving skills.
This job description is intended to be a broad description of duties. You will be expected to carry-out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Follow policy and procedure, conduct oneself with safety in mind, creating and maintaining a safe environment for oneself, guest and fellow associates
  • Engage guests while providing knowledge of the mountain, snow report.
  • Stores equipment overnight for all guests, insuring it is properly identified.
  • Keeps Ski Valet and entrance clean and in order at all times.
  • Offers information pertaining to available services and facilities of the hotel, points of interest and entertainment attractions.
  • Works closely with the front office to ensure guest requests are fulfilled.
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled work days.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested including obeying safety policies and procedures and attending safety trainings.

Qualifications/Knowledge:
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass an MVR check.
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred.
  • Fluent English Skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds. Standing and outdoors 50-60% of the time. Frequent walking, reaching and bending. This position will require individuals to be out in winter conditions 20-30% of the time.
Background Check:
Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving, or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
