Lab Technician IV



1-Year W2 Contract Assignment (Potential for Extension or Conversion to Full-Time)
Location: San Jose, CA
Schedule: 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $35-40/hour DOE

Our client, a global leader is data storage solutions, seeking a hands-on Lab Technician IV to support our Process Development and Wafer Integration Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced semiconductor R&D environment, operating advanced metrology equipment, and contributing to process development efforts.



Responsibilities

  • Support Process Development and Wafer Integration Engineering teams by executing engineering experiments and collecting process data.
  • Operate and maintain metrology and inspection equipment.
  • Log, analyze, and document experimental data accurately.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to ensure successful execution of experiments.
  • Monitor tool performance and respond to out-of-control conditions.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and develop alternative approaches to achieve project objectives.
  • Identify issues that may impact product quality or output and help drive corrective actions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with engineering teams.
  • Perform work in cleanroom and semi-cleanroom environments while following all safety and operating procedures.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic engineering environment.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience operating metrology or inspection equipment, including:
    • Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
    • Magnetic Force Microscope (MFM)
    • Interferometer
    • Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
    • High-magnification optical microscopy
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, integrated circuit (IC) fabrication, or magnetic read/write head slider fabrication.
  • Experience supporting engineering development or process integration teams.
