At SimonMed, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diagnostic imaging equipment across clinical sites. This role ensures MRI, CT, and X-Ray systems remain fully operational, safe, and compliant so patients can receive timely, high-quality imaging services.
This is a highly technical, field-based role that combines engineering expertise with customer service and operational responsiveness. If you thrive in solving complex equipment challenges and enjoy working in dynamic healthcare environments, this role offers meaningful, hands-on impact every day.
What You Bring
Technical expertise in imaging systems: You perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on MRI, CT, and digital X-Ray equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Strong problem-solving skills: You diagnose equipment issues, collaborate with manufacturers and operators, and resolve technical problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
Customer-focused communication: You maintain daily communication with clinical teams and customers, ensuring clear updates, timely follow-up, and strong service relationships.
Operational accountability: You maintain accurate service logs, documentation, and maintenance records in alignment with company standards and compliance requirements.
Adaptability in the field: You are comfortable traveling, responding to on-call needs, and working occasional evenings or weekends as operational demands require.
Commitment to safety and quality: You follow all safety protocols, operational guidelines, and regulatory standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
What You'll Gain
Hands-on impact on patient care: Your work ensures critical imaging equipment is always ready, directly supporting timely diagnosis and patient treatment.
Advanced technical experience: Gain deep expertise in high-end imaging modalities including MRI, CT, and digital radiography systems.
Field-based autonomy: Work independently across clinical sites while managing your own schedule, service calls, and maintenance priorities.
Continuous learning opportunities: Participate in OEM and technical training programs to expand your certifications and specialized skills.
Strong industry exposure: Collaborate with manufacturers, clinical staff, and technical teams across a modern healthcare imaging network.
You're a Strong Fit If You Have
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, electronics, or computer science required
• 3-5 years of experience in imaging equipment service or related technical field
• Experience with MRI, CT, and/or digital X-ray systems required
• OEM training (Siemens, GE, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and serve as a technical resource to others
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and evenings
• Ability to travel domestically as needed
• Strong computer skills and professional phone etiquette
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Field-based role across clinical imaging sites
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and hands-on technical work
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
