THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for 2 Licensed Practical Nurses to join our The Madison Care Centre Team in Coquitlam, BC! 

Position #1 – Medical Leave Coverage
  • Rotation: 4 days on, 2 days off
  • Schedule:
    • 2 Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • 2 Evening Shifts: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Term: Approximately 3 months
Position #2 – Maternity Leave Coverage
  • Rotation: 4 days on, 2 days off Rotation
  • Schedule:
    • Straight Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Wage according to BCNU

Responsibilities

  • Resident admissions, discharges and transfers
  • Resident assessments and care planning
  • Administration of medications, treatments and wound care
  • Working with electronic documentation (PointClickCare) and MDS Assessments
  • Liaises with physicians, families and other members of the care team
  • Delegates tasks to unregulated care providers
  • Participates in Care Conferences and Medication reviews.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with BCCNM
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certificate
  • Competent in electronic documentation and eMar
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience in Long Term Care Preferred

About us: The Madison Care Centre is centrally located steps from Como Lake in Coquitlam. The Madison Care Centre offers licensed and funded residential care to 137 clients, in which 96 of these beds are funded through the Fraser Health Authority. The Madison's room types include primarily single and double rooms. The building was beautifully constructed and opened in 2008. The Madison Care Centre works in collaboration with the Fraser Health Authority to offer funded beds, but we also have private pay rooms available.
