Job Title: Infection Prevention Coordinator
Location: NorthBay Healthcare
Job Summary:
The Infection Prevention Coordinator (IPC) is a professional who works independently and collaboratively with the Infection Prevention Manager (IPM) and the Medical Director of Infectious Disease Medicine / Hospital Epidemiology to provide service line support to NorthBay Healthcare. The IPC acts as a resource for departments, administration, medical staff, and hospital personnel in areas related to infection prevention. This position ensures that projects and activities align with the Infection Prevention Plan, TJC Regulations, Title XXII, and Hospital Policy. Responsibilities include surveillance, monitoring, prevention, and education on infection prevention processes within NorthBay and NorthBay-VacaValley Hospitals. The IPC applies supervisory experience to address daily issues, escalating problems to the IPM when necessary, and utilizes critical thinking skills to work independently and collaboratively.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in nursing
- Current RN licensure in the State of California
- Infection Control Certification (must be obtained within 18 months of hire)
- Minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ acute care experience
- Working knowledge of healthcare practices, data management, patient care equipment, and products
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention and epidemiology, TJC, Cal-OSHA, CMS standards
- Completion of APIC EPI 101 course within 12 months of hire
- Current California driverโ€™s license and access to an operating vehicle with minimal coverage auto insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masterโ€™s degree
- At least 6 monthsโ€™ experience in acute care infection prevention
