Job description

RN โ€“ Infection Control Specialist

The RN โ€“ Infection Control Specialist is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation, and monitoring of an infection control program and/or employee health program. The RN โ€“ Infection Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating programs designed to detect, evaluate and minimize risks of acquired infections to patients, employees and visitors. The RN โ€“ Infection Control Specialist supports and acts as a resource to administration, medical staff, and all hospital or clinic services.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current licensures as a Registered Nurse in the state of assignment required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Three to five (3-5) years' experience in employee health or infection control preferred
  • Infection Control Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of state, federal and JC regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
