Fastaff Travel Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Job Description & Requirements

MUST HAVE TO SUBMIT:
MN Active Perm License Required 
All LOA upfront: 1 week of LOA or less will be sent 
FACILITY INFO:
-Located in the heart of Minneapolis. Very close to Mall of America. 
-The first and only hospital system in Minnesota and the thirteenth center in the nation to be verified as a Level I Children’s Minnesota Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons.
-An award-winning health system, regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital.
-An independent and not-for-profit system (since 1924).
*MN fingerprinting Required 
--Children's MN is now requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for employees and contingent workers.* (confirming if still accurate)

Unit Details: 
BLS, NRP Required
PEDS experience required
2+ years of LEVEL 4 NICU experience required
Shift Length: 12 hrs (7a - 7p and 7p - 7a)
Must have experience working at PEDS HOSPITAL
Previous travel experience required
-ability to care for infants requiring: assisted ventilation including high frequency ventilator (JET and Oscillator), conventional vents, and non-invasive methods (bubble CPAP, RAM cannula, HFNC (high flow nasal cannula), pre and post op care of critically ill newborns, pre-term infants including ELBW (extremely low birth rate) population, strong knowledge of developmental care is expected 
Weekend Rotation: Every other
Shift/Hours: D/E/N rotate, 12hrs, every other weekend. (need flexibility to work combination of Days, Eves, & Nights)
Floating required: 

  • Children's MN at 2525 Chicago Ave, Mpls, MN 55404 (Units: Special Care Nursey (SCN), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Infant Care Center (ICC))
  • Childrens MN at 345 Smith Ave N, St. Paul, MN 55102 (Units: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU))
  • Allina Mercy at 4050 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55433 (Units: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU))
- Combination of Level 3 and Level 2 babies.
- Ratio: 1:1 - 1:3-4 depending on NICU level
- This unit sees 23 weeks to term
- Travelers do not attend deliveries
- Charge nurse, RT, Social Service on unit for assistance
- NNP and physician coverage 24/7. Manager and 2 patient care supervisors support the unit along with educators, CNS. Feedback from other travelers who we have used say they really like the unit and find the staff very helpful and supportive. Both units get the majority of their admissions from the attached Mother-Baby facility.
