Unit Notes
OSF ITEMS OF NOTE:

  • Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-*** to regular and OT bill rates)
  • OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
  • Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION:
  • Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN
  • Clinician's middle initial
  • Requested time off
  • Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
  • Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Department: Cardiac Cath RN
  • # suites/labs: 2 labs, 6 pre/post beds
  • #cases per day on average: Average 3 caths & 2 angios per day
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, all heart caths, peripheral angios, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have previous cath lab experience. Must be able to read tele strips and titrate drips. Need to know mostly all IV medications. Prefer experience with peripheral angio cases & IR & neuro intervention.
  • EMR/Equipment: EMR - Epic. Equipment - Philips monitoring equipment
  • Is there a Manager/Charge Nurse on each shift?: Charge nurse - take an assignment sometimes
  • Cath Lab Techs: Yes
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 8Hr shifts, 0700-1530
  • Weeknight/Call Requirements: On call 2-3 nights per week
  • Weekend/Call Requirements: On call every 3rd weekend
  • Holiday/Call Requirements: On call 2 holidays per year
  • Floating Requirements: Rarely float, will not take a patient assignment
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: Usually it is 1 week, so 4 shifts
