Position: Research Assistant / Administrative Assistant
Temporary Employment, mid-September to late-October 2026
We are seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to support the 2026 Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey and Youth Tobacco Survey (MD YRBS/YTS) on site at our clients Rockville, Maryland office. The role will provide administrative and operational support during project startup, a 2-day onsite training for approximately 25 data collectors, and the initial weeks of field operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow established procedures while managing multiple tasks. Responsibilities include:
Training and Project Preparation
  • Assemble, print, organize, and package training materials, field supplies, forms, and project documents.
  • Prepare participant packets and training materials.
  • Support training logistics, including materials, room setup, and inventory.
  • Package and distribute materials for school mailings and field staff.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure materials are complete, accurate, and compliant with project protocols.

Data Collection and Administrative Support
  • Process incoming data collection materials and documentation.
  • Track receipt of packages and forms from field staff.
  • Review materials for completeness and follow up on missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Process Classroom Information Forms and related field paperwork.
  • Verify expected counts and reconcile field staff reports.
  • Enter survey responses and project information into tracking systems and databases.
  • Maintain accurate project records and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Provide general administrative support and assist with other project tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Administrative, clerical, office support, or project coordination experience.
  • Experience supporting trainings, meetings, or logistics.
  • Experience with data entry, records management, or document processing.
  • Experience on research, education, public health, or survey projects.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance or quality control checks.

Job Type: Temporary, part-time as needed (16-24 hours/week)
