Remote CAT (Catastrophe) Customer Service Representative ($15/hr | Flexible Scheduling | Seasonal Opportunities)
When severe weather impacts communities, customers need support quickly. As a CAT Customer Service Representative, you will play an important role in helping individuals begin the claims process with compassion, accuracy, and professionalism.
Company Overview:
First Call Claims Solutions, a QRM Company, is a leading inbound claims call center with over 25 years of experience supporting companies nationwide. During catastrophe events, we provide critical customer support by helping policyholders begin the claims process when they need assistance most.
About the Role:
The CAT Customer Service Representative is a temporary, on-call position activated during natural disasters, severe weather, or other events affecting communities regionally or nationally.
You will provide customer support, utilize client claims systems, and help create a positive customer experience during challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver prompt, accurate, and courteous customer service
  • Demonstrate empathy and professionalism while assisting customers through the claims process
  • Collect, document, and update claim information accurately
  • Follow client-specific handling instructions and procedures
  • Utilize call scripting to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance during customer interactions

Scheduling Details:
This is a temporary, on-call position. Shift availability varies based on catastrophe events, business needs, and your availability. Because this role supports catastrophe response, periods without available shifts may occur.
  • Weekly schedules are posted in advance and include weekday, evening, and weekend shifts based on business needs.
  • Employees select available shifts based on their schedule (minimum shift length 2 hours)
  • Operations run 24/7/365, including holidays
  • Extended periods without available shifts may occur due to the nature of this role

Remote Work Requirements:
  • Windows 11 computer with 8GB+ RAM (Chromebooks, macOS, and Linux devices are not supported)
  • Private, secure internet connection (Ethernet connection recommended)
  • No public Wi-Fi, VPNs, or cellular-based internet connections
  • Personal cell phone (headset recommended)

Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Typing speed of 40+ WPM
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to self-manage
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
