Job description

Overview

The Madison Base Seasonal Program Supervisor plays a key leadership role within Big Sky Resort’s Mountain Sports School. This position oversees the organization, coordination, and execution of the seasonal programs at Madison Base while contributing to overall supervisory responsibilities. 

The Supervisor ensures smooth day-to-day operations, supports instructors and families, and maintains a positive, team-oriented environment. This role also includes stepping in to teach or lead training sessions when needed, while fostering both instructor development and exceptional guest experiences. 


Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Coordination

  • Organize, manage, and oversee Madison Base seasonal programs. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for program logistics and communication. 
  • Collaborate with the Mountain Village Seasonal Program Supervisor to ensure consistency across bases. 

Instructor & Guest Support

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship for instructors working in seasonal programs. 
  • Step into instructional or training roles when necessary. 
  • Communicate effectively with parents, instructors, and management to ensure positive guest experiences. 

Operational Management

  • upport day-to-day base operations, including scheduling and real-time adjustments. 
  • Utilize RTP, FLAIK, Outlook, and other platforms to manage program logistics and communication. 
  • Work outdoors in a dynamic mountain environment while maintaining a professional and approachable presence. 

Qualifications
  • PSIA/AASI Level 2 or 3 certification preferred, but not required. 
  • Previous experience in ski instruction and/or supervisory roles. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. 
  • Comfort with computer-based systems (RTP, FLAIK, Outlook). 
  • Dependable, reliable, and able to lead by example. 
  • Commitment to supporting instructor growth and enhancing guest experiences.

  • Parents and guests trust the structure, quality, and consistency of seasonal programs to support each child’s development through age and skill appropriate progression. 
  • Seasonal programs at Madison Base run smoothly, with clear organization and strong communication. 
  • Instructors feel supported and engaged in their development. 
  • Parents and guests have confidence in the structure, quality, and consistency of seasonal programs. 
  • Collaboration between Madison Base and Mountain Village supervisors is seamless. 
  • The supervisor demonstrates flexibility, stepping into instruction or training as needed while maintaining a positive team culture.
