Position Summary Information
Position Summary
The Lead Instructor, Electronics Engineering is responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience for all College students. The instructor will teach EET courses; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College; the instructor will also demonstrate a commitment to the Learning College concept, assessment, cooperative learning, and student advising.
Responsibilities
1. Develop course outlines and teaching materials based on the state curriculum standards and make changes to the curriculum as needed
2. Facilitate the delivery of courses in the EET program each academic year including but not limited to DC/AC circuit analysis, program logic controllers (PLC), automation, and robotics.
3. Deliver a full-time teaching load providing a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid classes as needed for the academic year
4. Serve as a curriculum and career development advisor to EET students
5. Conduct classroom observations of adjunct faculty in coordination with the Dean
6. Maintain and improve program lab facilities, supplies and equipment
7. Serve on various college committees and community organizations
8. Serve as an ambassador in the community for the College and the EET program
9. Assist and consult with the Dean, upon request
10. Perform expectations of a faculty member as stated in the Full Time Faculty Job Description
11. Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
1. Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College
2. Ability to work with others and describe technical issues to non-technical personnel
3. Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels and in a variety of work environments
4. Excellent customer service skills
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be highly organized
6. Excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree in a related field, required.
Working knowledge of PLC's and robotics required.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferred.
Related industry experience preferred.
Experience with Allen-Bradley and Fanuc automation equipment preferred.
Community College teaching experience preferred.
