Job description

Our client, a government organization in Oakland, is seeking an experienced Printing Press Operator to support daily printing operations in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating offset printing equipment, performing routine maintenance and producing high-quality multi-color print jobs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operate the Ricoh, HP, Heidelberg GTO, DAVIDSON 702P and the 10x15 Heidelberg letter press.
    • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to digital and offset printing equipment.
    • Conduct periodic machine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
    • Produce high-quality multi-color printing, including four-color process printing.
    • Mix and match inks according to sample jobs and PMS swatch books.
    • Utilize anti-offset spray powder equipment and related printing supplies.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
    • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in press operation and basic maintenance of digital and offset printing equipment.
    • At least one year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of the principles and procedures of offset presswork.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
    • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
    • Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
    • Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
