If you are interested in a position that works directly with the Marriott Library's collection of more than 3 million books, this position is responsible for the timely and accurate management of library material including shelving books in the library collections, shelf reading the collections, and performing scheduled check in of returned material. This position also assists with projects related to shifting collections and the general care of the library resources.
For the Library to be able to appropriately monitor hours worked, part-time employees are generally asked to restrict their work with the University of Utah to Library employment only, unless an exception is granted.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include shelving, shelf reading, shifting, and checking in returned materials. May also assist with various projects.
Minimum Qualifications Preferences
Previous experience using a library. Previous experience in detail oriented assignments. Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks and collaboratively in groups on assigned projects. Ability to speak English, to understand the alphabet, and push a loaded book truck and lift 25 lbs.
Current University of Utah student enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
