About the Role:

The Quality Engineer assists in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements, internal quality assurance and quality control activities, customer concerns, process control plans, and supplier quality issues. Performs quality engineering work to evaluate manufacturing processes or performance improvement projects for optimization. Duties also may include the development of processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met

Key Responsibilities:
  • They work to find defects, determine the causes of those defects, and provide solutions to detect problems.
  • Designs, installs, and evaluates quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.
  • Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production and service limitations and standards. Recommends revision of specifications.
  • Formulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
  • Interfaces with all other engineering functions within an organization and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
  • Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
  • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements in Procurement, Design and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Reviewing specifications, and processes.
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment.
  • Making sure processes adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Initiating and managing Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) requests, Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Non-Conformance (NC) reports, Deviation requests, and Short Ship documentation, ensuring proper approvals and timely closure.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical, Industrial or mechanical engineering or the equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to be flexible with your schedule as work hours will be based on business needs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical switchgear manufacturing preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel possible to other company facilities to support quality needs and requirements as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Will travel to suppliers as needed to support supplier quality issues and resolutions.
Work Environment:

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
