Job Title: Production Operator

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY

Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass produce products such as encapsulated or bonded products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conform to company's employee handbook of rules and regulations.

  • Priming, processing, trimming, and assembly of encapsulated product.
  • Manual assembly and bonding of components to product.
  • Reading / comprehension of step-by-step work instruction manuals.
  • Wearing required safety equipment (i.e., safety glasses, latex gloves, Kevlar gloves, etc.)
  • Packing finished product per instructions.
  • Maintain work cell organization throughout shift.
  • Follows quality procedures as it pertains to the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to visually identify defective product in process.
  • Complete daily shift report form.
  • Maintain PPH standards for encapsulation and assembly processes.
  • Follow standardized procedures according to process layout.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
