Description: Explores theory and research on leadership approaches (including leadership styles, strategies, and communication practices) and the role of leadership theory in educational settings.

This course is not Team taught.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

Education:

1. PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is required. Exceptionally, a master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Curriculum studies, leadership or school administration) extensive relevant experience.

Experience:

1. Expert knowledge of:

  • Reflexive and critical praxis

  • Educational leadership in contemporary educational settings, including but not limited to elementary, high schools, and alternative schools

  • Wide range of different theories of educational leadership

2. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level.

3. Experience as a school administrator or institutional leader in the Quebec educational system.

Other:

1. Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion.

2. Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.

3. Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset.

4. Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.
