Job description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:
  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Stacking and feeding products on production lines.
  4. Inspecting products for quality and consistency
  5. Packaging and casing finished products.
  6. Applying labels to product packaging.
  7. Providing relief support for production operations.
  8. Weighing food processing waste and maintaining records.
  9. Monitoring procedures and work conditions to prevent product contamination and minimize waste.
  10. Communicating effectively with plant personnel.
  11. Verifying quality control items such as product weights, coding, uniformity, and packaging
  12. Maintaining accurate documentation and production records.
  13. Assisting with sanitation and housekeeping throughout the facility.
  14. Adhering to all company and customer safety, sanitation, and operational policies.
  15. Assisting with the training of new employees as needed.
  16. Supporting maintenance personnel during equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
  17. Following all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and Safety policies and procedures and reporting any nonconformities.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
