Job description

Sales Engineer – End-of-Line Automation

Location: Lenexa, KS
Travel: 50%+ domestic travel required

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and driven Sales Account Manager to support business development and consultative sales of end-of-line automation systems, robotic palletizing solutions, conveyors, material handling equipment, and intralogistics systems.

This role will focus on developing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, understanding client needs, and proposing engineered solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, technically curious, and comfortable traveling frequently to customer sites, industry events, and sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers to identify new business opportunities.
  • Prospect, target, and close new business opportunities across the United States.
  • Schedule and lead meetings, presentations, and solution-based discussions with prospective clients.
  • Educate customers on automation solutions, equipment capabilities, and operational value.
  • Ask qualifying questions to understand customer needs, production challenges, and operational goals.
  • Recommend technical solutions that best align with customer requirements.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of automation systems, robotic palletizing, conveyors, material handling, and related equipment.
  • Prepare commercial proposals and technical solution recommendations.
  • Negotiate and close sales opportunities professionally and effectively.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive solutions.
  • Build long-term customer relationships and support overall customer satisfaction.
  • Travel frequently to customer facilities, sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Manage sales pipeline activity, forecasting, opportunity tracking, and CRM updates.
  • Accurately maintain customer and opportunity information within the CRM system.
  • Represent the company professionally and ethically in all business activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and business practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 2+ years of industrial B2B sales experience, preferably within automation, material handling, intralogistics, food processing, or CPG industries.
  • Experience with consultative and technical sales processes.
  • Knowledge of meat processing operations is highly preferred.
  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with robotic palletizing, case packing systems, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with decision-makers at multiple levels within an organization.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability and willingness to travel more than 50% domestically.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience selling automation systems, conveyors, robotic palletizers, AGVs, or intralogistics solutions.
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing, food processing, and production environments.
  • Ability to identify customer operational challenges and translate them into engineered solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-selling skills.
