Job description

What we are looking for:

The Quality Inspector / Medical Component Finishing (MCF) Operator performs a variety of different functions in support of preparing medical components for final inspection and packaging.  The MCF Operator can be assigned duties such as scouring, heating setting, laser cutting, measuring, cutting and/or inspecting.  This position may focus on one area of the MCF department or be crossed trained in more than one functional area.    Inspection and testing may be performed on braids, yarns, fabrics for commercial and or R & D products.

1st Shift:  Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm 

What you’ll do:

  • Inspects and measures product, either visually or through microscopes, to measure and record fabric characterization such as Ends per Inch (EPI), Pics per Inch (PPI), Courses per Inch (CPI), width, diameter, thickness, etc.
  • Inspects product for defects and contamination, according to Work Instructions (WI), Visual Inspection Criteria, SOP’s, and internal specifications.
  • Records and communicates test results manually and/or electronically.
  • Conducts extensive data collection to support the identification of trends to increase yields through process improvement.
  • Utilizes a variety of testing equipment including, but not limited to optical comparator, hot knife equipment, microscopes, and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) technology.
  • Packs product for transfer to final inspection and final packaging

Who you are:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 0-1 year related experience.
  • Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices and working within regulated industries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to get along well with others and work in a team environment.
