POSITION PROFILE:

The Senior Manager of Business Development Operations is responsible for working with the Vice President of Business Development to efficiently lead and optimize the operational functions of the Business Development team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Manage Safran DSI Optronics Business Operations activities including: 

  • Manage sales forecasts, monthly booking reports, internal sales activities, and lead sales and operations planning coordination among Safran Electronics and Defense affiliates.
  • Monitor quote execution and purchase order acceptance through Salesforce.
  • Direct business development operations activities among domestic and foreign affiliates including product pricing, product availability inquiries, and coordinating amongst affiliates on annual MSRP and transfer pricing assumptions.
  • Support Optronics marketing activities and decisions regarding advertising, HR, social media, trade shows, etc. through budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support leadership in the drafting of dashboard reporting, as required.
  • Coordinate with various distributors, prospects, clients, and partners in the government contracting environment as necessary (execution of required import/export documentation).
  • Support new business opportunities with business plan development and dashboards.
  • Coordinate with Safran DSI regarding the onboarding, maintenance, and renewal of Optronics business partners to include vetting and concurrence of Safran entities.
  • Ensure appropriate licensing for sales by working with Safran DSI Trade Compliance, to include required licenses from affiliate countries.
  • Maintain a forward-leaning posture that is always willing to wear extra hats as needed to help the organization achieve its goals.
  • Direct, develop and manage streamlined business processes to maximize efficiency across the Optronics organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Direct and supervise Business Development Operations personnel. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • BA or BS in related field, Master's Degree (M.A.) preferred.
  • 4+ years in operations or similiar role.
  • Experience in operational planning.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to cultivate, build and maintain customer relationships with internal and external Optronics stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident.

 

 

IDEALLY, YOU'LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience in developing cost and price development and analysis.
  • Experience working in an ITAR environment.
  • Ability to analyze DoD trends and direction with respect to Optronics business model to include briefing Optronics and its affiliates as appropriate. Estimate demand for proposed projects based on research and government spending trends.
