Overview
TRC is seeking a full-time candidate for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS D1.5 shop fabrication experience to perform quality assurance inspections in and around the Northern and Central Florida area.
Responsibilities
  • Previous bridge fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.
  • NDT Level I or Level II certification, UT, MT, PT or Radiographic Interpretation.
  • ICC Structural Bolting certification or other experience inspecting high strength bolt testing and installation.
  • Familiarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5/AASHTO/AWS D1.1.
  • Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting.
  • Utilize applicable ASTM and AASHTO construction specifications.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and project special provisions to verify compliance to material quality.
  • Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable coded requirements.
  • Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity/preinstallation verification) and reporting.
  • Familiarity with steel bridge erection.
  • Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner, and printer.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, file (photograph and other) attachments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relations.

Qualifications
  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified through https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/TPE1CpYPpEHA6W5Qu0EHGf?domain=aws.org
  • 3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Driving Record (driver license will be verified.
  • Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
