Job description

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation: Starting wage $21.00 - $21.80, adjusted based on experience.
  • Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available

Job Summary:
As part of the culinary team of a restaurant or other food service establishment Line Cooks prepare ingredients and dishes under the guidance of a supervisor. Duties include preparing, seasoning and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items. Line Cooks will perform work station cleaning duties, including washing dishes and items used in food preparation. Line Cooks will also help to maintain the outdoor service areas, loading docks, building entrances and garbage disposal areas by removing snow and spreading sand/grit.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations
  • Prepare food including cleaning and cutting ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, grab-and-go items, and snacks
  • Plate prepared foods based on chefs' direction
  • Work with servers and customers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Wash and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store and organize kitchen/restaurant items
  • Ensure that the kitchen operation follows the highest standards of hygiene, meeting all food safety standards and regulations
  • Must be willing to assist a small team when working a station
  • Take initiative to work on other tasks for the success of the restaurant
  • Complete daily prep lists and temp logs
  • Step in to help others in need
  • Assist with snow removal as needed
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least one year cooking experience in a high-end restaurant, resort or private club environment
  • Excellent kitchen knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organization and active listening skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and to lift 50 pounds
  • To be able to work at a high paced, high-volume outlet
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Strong hospitality standards (be memorable, connected, friendly, helpful, and create joy) that correlate with teamwork and respect to all guests, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Serve safe or food safety certified highly encouraged
  • Works odd hours (i.e. late evenings, early mornings, weekends and holidays)
