Crouse's Madison Irving Surgery Center (MI) team is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN). The Outpatient Surgery PACU RN oversees patient monitoring, evaluation and care interventions of the pre and post surgical patients in a one day surgery center.
Pay Range: $39.78 - $51.50 an hour based on experience
up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs!
Available Schedule(s): Part-time 20 hours/week -7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5:00pm, 9:00am-5:30pm & other shifts as needed Monday-Friday
Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities:
  • Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
  • Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
  • Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
  • Utilizes and engages in evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations.

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements:
  • Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
    • For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained.
  • One (1) year Post Anesthetic Care or Critical Care experience.
  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within six (6) months of the hire date.
