Job Title: Medical Office Assistant

Job Description

The Medical Office Assistant provides essential administrative support in a clinical setting, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves working closely with clinical staff and patients, performing data entry, and supporting a variety of office functions in a fast-paced medical environment. A high school diploma or GED is required, and no professional license is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the medical office, including managing paperwork, forms, and patient documentation.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry into electronic systems to support patient care and office operations.
  • Support clinical and administrative staff by coordinating daily office activities and assisting with general office tasks.
  • Maintain organized records and files to ensure easy retrieval of patient and office information.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Assist with patient flow by helping coordinate schedules, visits, and communications as needed.
  • Adapt to different specialties and workflows when floating between locations, ensuring consistent support across departments.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong administrative support skills in a medical or office environment.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry and manage electronic information.

Work Environment

This role is based within outpatient medical practices, with one position stationed in a family medicine office and another position floating between specialties in Westport and Fairfield. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a consistent daytime workweek. The environment is professional, team-oriented, and patient-focused, with regular interaction with clinical staff and patients. Work is primarily performed in standard medical office settings, using electronic systems such as EPIC and other office technologies to support daily operations. Dress is expected to be professional and appropriate for a clinical office environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westport, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
