Job description

Position Overview
Prestige Staffing is seeking an experienced Physician Medical Billing Specialist to support a growing health practice. This role is critical to maintaining a clean and efficient revenue cycle and requires hands-on experience across billing, accounts receivable, and client invoicing. The ideal candidate will know billing and collections with the responsibility for reviewing reimbursement accuracy and identifying underpayments. We are seeking someone for a contract to hire who can work independently, think critically, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Details:
  • $25-28/hour
  • Mon – Thurs 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Fri 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Onsite daily and office location will be based on where the new hire lives in Atlanta between 6 locations

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of recent physician medical billing experience (primary or initial billing)
  • Hands-on Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience
  • Charge entry and claims submission experience
  • Payment posting and allocation as well as working over and under payments
  • Accounts receivable (AR) follow-up including through correspondence as well as phone calls
  • Ability to read and understand EOBs and ERA’s
  • EMR experience is a must and ModMed is a plus
  • Experience working denials and writing appeals

Key Responsibilities
• Perform accurate charge entry and claim submission
• Manage client billing and invoice reconciliation (including lab services)
• Post and allocate payments correctly across accounts
• Work aging AR and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Review and interpret EOBs to take appropriate action
• Ensure accounts are balanced and reconciled
• Compare expected reimbursement to actual payments and identify underpayments or discrepancies
• Investigate and follow up on underpaid claims to ensure proper reimbursement
• Work closely with providers to ensure accurate documentation and coding
• Collaborate with leadership on billing issues and process improvements
