Overview

Join the Developer Technology Group for a fantastic opportunity to leverage and develop your existing Scrum and Agile skills. Work in a Scaled environment amongst other enthusiastic and knowledgeable Agile practitioners.

As a Scrum Master you will coach a team on Scrum best practices, facilitate effective interactions, remove impediments and cultivate a safe environment where the team can mature. You will help to evolve, implement and refine scaled agile concepts by collaborating within our holistic Scrum Master community.

Your efforts in these key areas will ensure that we produce effective teams who in turn are positioned to deliver cutting edge SDKs that are used around the world to build amazing native mobile and desktop apps.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate regular Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Lead multiple teams with differing dynamics to accomplish project goals
  • Assess Agile maturity of teams and coach them to continually improve at a sustainable pace
  • Remove impediments teams may have by finding the right person(s) or solution to remove blockers
  • Facilitate cross-team and organizational dependencies to ensure decision making and conflict resolution are timely
  • Build a safe environment where problems can be raised and tackled effectively
  • Coach Product Owners and Development teams on their roles and responsibilities within the Scrumframework
  • Support the Product Owner in the refinement and maintenance of the product backlog
  • Support teams in drafting and adhering to agreements for definition of ready, definition of done and team norms
  • Create and publish metrics to track and review team performance, including burndown charts, velocity, and other sprint metrics

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Relevant professional experience as a Scrum Master
  • A track record of developing highly performing Agile delivery teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the Agile software development life cycle and implementation approaches
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or GIS

Recommended Qualifications

  • Knowledge of scaled Scrum approaches (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, Nexus)
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches (XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD)
  • Software development or technical background
  • Experience with GitHub and ZenHub issue management tools
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology
  • Master's degree in in computer science, mathematics, or GIS
