Temporary Marine Vetting Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Charterer is responsible for securing safe, reliable, and cost-effective marine vessels in support of the energy trading business. Develops and maintains a fleet of vessels to meet business demands, while leveraging contacts to anticipate business needs and explore new opportunities. This includes negotiating and chartering tanker vessels that adhere to UNIPEC America compliance, safety, and vetting standards.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating marine transportation to meet business needs by securing spot, short-term, and long-term charters. 
• Ability to effectively execute various types of charter party agreements (spot, COA, term).
• Negotiate and manage various agreements while working with suppliers, brokers, and agents to secure vessels in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
• Collaborate closely with Trading, Legal, Middle Office, and other teams to ensure we successfully achieve business goals and operational activities. 
• Manage various metrics for performance, market trends, broker performance, freight costs, and vessel analytics.
• Coordinate with Operations to align vessel availability, freight rates, and delivery schedules to minimize demurrage, reduce freight costs, and ensure on-time cargo delivery.
• Ensure timely payment to vendors and suppliers, including working with internal groups to resolve billing and claims.
• Proactive communication, efficient coordination, and strong organizational skills to maintain smooth operational performance and service quality.
• Ensure all data and operational inputs are accurate and timely, while complying with contractual obligations and maintaining commercial and financial integrity.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Operations, Maritime Business, Maritime Administration, Maritime Logistics, or a related field.
• 4 years of chartering experience or relevant industry experience. 
• Knowledge of the maritime transportation and logistics industry.
• Experience in commercial activities and negotiating agreements.
• Knowledge of API standards, the framework for oil and gas product quality and safety. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Effective and strong negotiating skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a consistent ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
• Self-motivated, with strong communication skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Organized and able to work with substantial amounts of information.
• Proven ability to excel in high-pressure environments while meeting deadlines and managing priorities independently.
