Job Description
z Systems SDM, manages a team of mainframe consultants who are responsible for the implementation delivery of IBM mainframe hardware and software products/solutions to meet/exceed key business measurements. The Delivery Manager needs to be a role model, inspire their teams, drive a culture of consulting eminence and transformational change, deliver client value, and leverage HCL achieve  business objectives. The Delivery Manager will work to plan and execute the most effective mainframe engagement strategy for his/her team. The Delivery Manager must have a strong understanding of IBM's Mainframe and ISV product portfolio
The Manager should have expert consultative knowledge on a wide array of Mainframe technologies, excellent communication skills, client interfacing skills, flexibility, track record for quick learning, and willingness to work in a fast paced environment is a must. The  Manager will be required to manage the architecting and implementation of z solutions helping transform client's mainframe business. Knowledge in at least two additional areas of technical disciplines is a strong plus: mainframe security, system programming, parallel sysplex, network, storage, High Availability, Performance and Tuning, and Middleware. The manager will also have demonstrated a successful history of z Systems consultative and architectural project engagements, be familiar with architectural methods, and how delivery consultants assess IT infrastructures, understand gaps in best practices and help guide delivery consultants on solution recommendations for client environments
The manager will help guide delivery consultants who perform hands-on Proof of Concept (PoC) projects and planning and deploying IBM z infrastructures in client data center environments while integrating multi-vendor components; therefore, a working knowledge of IBM's z hardware and software solutions is preferred. The duties of a Delivery Manager also include all matters of basic management responsibilities common to all managers, including people management responsibilities such as hiring, assessing, rewarding and coaching consultant professionals, compensation, promotions, skills growth, etc.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
5+ years' experience in managing a service delivery practice (recovery and expense; resource staffing)/project managing complex infrastructure engagements, assessing a client's infrastructure, architecting infrastructure solutions, and implementation/installation of infrastructure solutions within a client's data center(s)
5+ years' experience in client facing communications, requirements analysis, documentation, and final report delivery/presentations
5+ years' experience in individual project management and the ability to collaborate across teams globally
