This position is responsible for supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial records through effective accounting processes, analysis, and reporting. The role contributes to month-end close activities, balance sheet accuracy, and overall financial reporting. Responsibilities include supporting inventory, account reconciliations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information. The position will also support various accounting operations, process improvements, and ad hoc analyses, with the opportunity to expand into broader accounting responsibilities over time.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Update and maintain product standard costs.
  • Investigate purchase price variance and make necessary adjustments to standard costs.
  • Prepare inventory reports and analysis of inventory locations and brands.
  • Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Support monthly financial accounting close and reporting.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Approve inter-company sales orders.
  • Assist with shrink assessment.
  • Ensure inventory write-offs have been properly posted.
  • Assist with year-end closing and annual external audit.
  • Learn other accounting responsibilities and cross training for individual development and back up for other positions.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist all areas of accounting department with any ad hoc requests.

QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies
  • Excellent communication skills; able to effectively communicate with multiple departments and management levels.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills.
  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately is critical.
  • Must be self-starter and detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated (curious individual that will seek analysis).
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required in accounting.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2-4 years related experience in cost accounting, inventory, reporting, and consolidation.
  • Experience working in an inventory environment is a plus.
  • Accounting/GAAP knowledge.
  • Full P&L experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office - specifically Excel (PowerPoint experience a plus but not required).
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

This is an on-site role in Bridgeview, IL and only local candidates will be considered.
