Job description

Duties As an IT Specialist (Network Services/Systems Administration), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the senior system administrator providing planning, directing, and coordinating of Command and Control (C2) missions systems' installation, maintenance and support. Serves as lead system administrator, trainer and supervisor, and provides Information Assurance (lA) support. Requirements Conditions of employment * Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

* May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period. * Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. * For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

* The employee's normal duty days and hours may require rotating shifts and/or days. * Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. * The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial vehicles and aircraft to perform temporary duty.

* The employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance within one year of appointment. * The employee must obtain and maintain Security+ certification and may be required to obtain and maintain Linux+ or other certifications I.A.W. DoD 8570 and local requirements.

* 3+ years' experience with the Linux operating system is highly desirable. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have experience with a broad range of IT principles, methods, advancements, policies, systems concepts and analysis, design, development, testing and applications to include hardware and software. Must have experience and skill in supporting the parent organization's and subordinate organizations' network architecture, topology and protocols; ability to study existing architecture of installation systems and test possible enhancements.

Must have experience installing and maintaining software and hardware, control current versions and future releases of application software, and document the physical configuration of the organization's information systems and command and control (C2) systems. Must have experience applying methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures; IT security certification and accreditation requirements; and network operations/protocols.
