Location: Fort Knox, KY

Job Title: Application Server Administrator

Duration: 6 Months (temp to perm)

Application Server Administrator

  • Client is seeking a Server Administrator to join our Keystone team at the U.S. Army Human Resources Command.
  • The administrator will be part of a team that is enhancing/upgrading legacy applications into new Java based web applications in an enterprise environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive Solaris and Linux administration in an enterprise environment
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade and document all aspects of the of the Solaris and Linux architecture
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade and document all aspects of the supporting program applications to include WebLogic and/or other web applications/services, and supporting development programs such as Java, Perl, and Subversion
  • Perform optimization and performance testing, provide technical support for incident response and reporting
  • Provide on-call support as needed. After hours and weekend support is required
  • Implement and maintain a secure Solaris and Linux server environment in compliance with all IA and DoD STIG guidelines
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field. Four years of additional general experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years of technical experience administering Solaris/Linux in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in Network operations and design, switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Extensive Shell scripting experience is required
  • Ability to work in an environment that practices strict change management
  • Team player, strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems; work as both a team and/or as a self-directed individual, client-facing experience, self-disciplined and ability to multi- task
  • Ability to train other team members on the applications, proper procedures, problem isolation
  • Ability to develop instructions in a logical, detailed flow
  • US Citizen - No dual citizenship
  • Possess a SECRET clearance or have the ability to obtain one. Must have at least an interim SECRET to begin work on the contract
  • Must be CompTIA Security+ certified
  • Must obtain as a related certification relevant to the computing environment (Red Hat or Solaris Certification) with the first 90 days of employment
  • Must be enrolled in CompTIA Continuing Education program
  • Must sign a privileged level access agreement and non-disclosure agreement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with virtual hosts, Solaris zones, and supporting web application services
  • Experience with WebLogic and/or JBoss
  • Knowledge of ISO/ITIL processes and documentation standards
