Sandwich Maker - Flour Bakery Back Bay - 131 Clarendon Street, Boston, MA

If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for exceptional sandwich makers for our growing team! This is a great position for experienced line cooks or prep cooks. As a sandwich maker, you'll prepare sandwiches with speed and accuracy, while engaging with guests and delivering excellent hospitality.
Day-to-day Performance Expectations:
  • Follow assembly instructions and recipes accurately and thoroughly to ensure each sandwich is consistently delicious.ย 
  • Must be able to deliver consistently great hospitality:ย 
    • Engage our guests at Flour by greeting them with a smile, treating them with kindness, and finding the correct answers to any questions they may have.
  • Applicants must be enthusiastic, hardworking, possess strong guest service skills, be eager to learn, and be able to work in a professional kitchen environment as part of a team.ย 
  • We are seeking self-motivated employees who thrive in a fun, positive, fast-paced team environment with opportunities for advancement.
Skills for Qualification:
  • Must have the availability to work at least 3-4 shifts, 20 hours a week, including at least 1 weekend day.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment
  • Must be able to maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
  • Applicants must be enthusiastic, hard-working, possess strong guest service skills, and be comfortable working in a professional open-kitchen environment.
  • We are seeking self-motivated employees who thrive in a fun, positive, and fast-paced team environment with opportunities for advancement.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 1 year for FOH Sandwich Maker position. Unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal or temporary work.
Physical Requirements:
  • Be prepared to be on your feet all day. This is a physically active role.ย 
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to operate equipment such as ovens, grills, knives and other kitchen equipment and utensils
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and at times, tight spaces.ย 
  • Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures (at times, you could be in a freezer and/or hot kitchens, etc.)
  • We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.ย 
Compensation:
This position has an average starting compensation of $20-$24 per hour (base wage of $15 + $5-9 per hour in pooled tips). The starting pay rate for this position is $15, but the total pay range is $15-$19.32.
