Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Looking for a line cook at night and a prep cook during the day.  We have part-time and full time available.  Working with a talented chef who is hands on and has many years of experience in both fine and causal dinning.  As a line cook you will prep a station when you arrive and then prepare meals as the orders come in.  We change the menu seasonally and add in specials daily.  As a prep cook you will work with the chef and the banquet chef to prepare food for a wide range of events. Working with many different types of cuisines, like Italian, American and Asian to name a few.  
This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse group of people from all backgrounds, it's a fun, professional environment where you can show off your talent and learn new skills to grow yourself. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the preparation station and kitchen are set up and stocked.
  • Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Report to the executive chef and follow instructions.
  • Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
  • Stock inventory and supplies.
  • Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
  • Ensure the preparation station and kitchen are set up and stocked.

  • Duties during the event can vary based on the situation, but, in general, they must be able to focus on the job while staying on their feet and moving about freely, which can include bending, climbing stairs, and carrying items weighing 25-50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read menu items.
  • Good communication is important, as is being able to follow directions efficiently and meet the physical demands of the job. Must be able to communicate Member needs to other Team Members. (Host, Bartender, and/or Managers).
  • Ability to Stand 6-8 Hours at a time.
  • A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
