Job description

The Business Data Analyst facilitates business intelligence processes and procedures, development and implementation, provides query and reporting expertise, analyzes data, and assists in the presentation of insights to our key stakeholders. This position applies the strategies and implementation of data mining, analyzing, and reporting in order to facilitate the company’s ability to leverage its data in development of strategic planning and quality assurance.

This is a temporary assignment expected to run through January 2027.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30PM - 4:30PM

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Supports the design, development, and implementation of new reporting requirements. Gathers and translates business needs and requirements from non-technical end users and stakeholders into query development and design.
  • Fulfills ad-hoc reporting/data requests.
  • Performs data validation to ensure completeness and accuracy of queries and reports and reconciles discrepancies.
  • Assists in the evaluation and prioritization of reported issues and communicates status and resolution to relevant users.
  • Participates in the maintenance of existing queries and reports, re-writing and enhancing these queries as needed.
  • Assists in the building of data visualizations and dashboards in PowerBI to display defined KPI.
  • Participates in the presentation of complex concepts and results to end users and stakeholders
  • Participates in the migration from Tableau to PowerBI


Academic Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or other technical or healthcare field – highly preferred
    • Studies level: University Education (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Studies area: Computer Science/Engineering or other related field

Position Requirements/Experience:

  • Experience working in medical/healthcare industry - preferred
  • Knowledge of data collection, storage, and maintenance concepts - required
  • Knowledge in predictive modeling - a plus
  • Database organization, design, and maintenance skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot database programs

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of SQL – required
  • Knowledge of PowerBI - required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel (Pivot Tables/Look-Ups), Access, and OneNote – required
  • Knowledge of Alteryx and/or Tableau - preferred
