Job description

The Investment Performance Professional is responsible for supporting the calculation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of investment performance across UTIMCO portfolios. This role partners closely with Operations, Accounting, Investment, Risk, and Technology teams to ensure accurate and timely performance measurement and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Overall Responsibilities:
  • Support daily and monthly performance reporting processes for internal management and external reporting
  • Calculate and validate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio performance returns across multiple asset classes
  • Analyze portfolio returns, cash flows, benchmarks, attribution, and value-added performance metrics
  • Reconcile investment positions, transactions, market values, and performance data between custodians, accounting systems, and internal records
  • Assist with performance attribution analysis to explain active returns relative to benchmarks
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, breaks, and reporting exceptions in a timely manner
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools
  • Assist with audits and documentation of procedures and controls
  • Maintain and enhance reporting dashboards and data visualization tools
  • Partner with Accounting and Investment teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
  • Support process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and operational efficiencies
  • Build relationships across the Operations/OAR team and all other UTIMCO teams in order to foster an excellent culture within the organization
  • Utilizes experience and knowledge to work through more complex issues and assignments with minimal supervision; take full responsibility for assigned tasks

Requirements:
  • 3+ Years of experience in finance, investment operations, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Understanding of investment concepts, portfolio performance measurement, and financial markets
  • General knowledge of accounting principles and investment accounting
  • Experience analyzing investment returns, cash flows, benchmarks, and reconciliations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with investment accounting or performance systems
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards in Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Elevated attention to detail as well as strong verbal/written communications skills and presence to communicate effectively
  • Collegial team player possessing intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and thoughtfulness
  • Constructive, "can do" attitude committed to consistently doing what is in the best interest of the organization
  • Unquestioned honesty, integrity, and transparency
