Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Investment Performance Analyst for our client, an innovative WealthTech company transforming portfolio management and financial technology solutions!

This is a full-time, direct hire position offering a hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC OR Darien, CT.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Serve as a key partner between Investment Performance, Investment Operations, Portfolio Management, and Technology teams. Bring deep expertise in performance measurement and attribution while translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with investment, operations, and engineering stakeholders to define, document, and implement requirements for investment performance platforms.
  • Analyze and validate complex performance calculations, including IRR, time-weighted returns, variance analysis, and performance reconciliation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on investment performance methodologies and calculation logic.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams to validate calculation outputs, troubleshoot discrepancies, and resolve data issues. Perform data analysis and reconciliation to identify calculation issues and recommend solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Investment Performance Analyst within an asset management organization.
  • Experience with a leading institutional asset manager (Fidelity, BNY, Vanguard, BlackRock, State Street, T. Rowe Price, Capital Group, or a similar firm).
  • Strong understanding of investment performance measurement methodologies, including IRR, TWR, performance variance, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Proven experience partnering with software engineering teams to build or enhance investment performance calculation engines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate business concepts into technical requirements.
  • CFA designation/progress toward CFA certification or an Investment Performance Measurement Certificate (IPMC) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with investment accounting, portfolio analytics, performance reporting platforms, SQL, data analysis tools, and Agile development environments is a plus.

  • Annual base salary range of $130-160k, commensurate with experience.
