What does a temporary investment performance analyst do?

A Temporary Investment Performance Analyst is responsible for evaluating and reporting on the performance of investment portfolios over a specified contract period. Their tasks typically include collecting and analyzing financial data, preparing performance reports, and assisting in the interpretation of portfolio results for clients or management. They may also contribute to process improvements and support the investment team with research. This role is typically filled on a short-term basis to cover workload peaks, special projects, or staff absences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temporary investment performance analyst?

To thrive as a Temporary Investment Performance Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, quantitative aptitude, and a background in finance, economics, or a related field, often supported by a bachelor's degree. Familiarity with performance measurement software (such as FactSet or Bloomberg), advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of industry standards like GIPS are typically required.
