Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound freight from carriers such as parcel and freight services, unload trucks, and verify shipments against documentation.
  • Use forklifts to move materials between locations, and place products into and out of warehouse racks.
  • Enter and update electronic records for receipts, inventory, and locations, ensuring data accuracy for part numbers, quantities, and related fields.
  • Place pallets and materials safely, ensuring pallets are stable, pallet heights are appropriate, racking and equipment are not damaged, and aisles remain clear.
  • Inspect material handling equipment before use to verify safe operating condition and report any issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Use RF scanners or similar devices, if provided, to scan and track inventory movement and support real-time inventory updates.
  • Assist with strapping and securing items on trucks to ensure loads are stable and safe for transport, as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Proven forklift operating experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Hands-on shipping and receiving experience, including loading, unloading, and verifying shipments.
  • Experience with general material handling tasks such as pallet building, staging, and organizing stock.
  • Capability to perform basic inventory tasks, including counting, locating, and moving materials.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate part numbers, quantities, and data entry into inventory systems.
  • Physical ability to work on and around ladders and to handle boxes and materials in a warehouse setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using RF scanners or similar devices for inventory tracking.
  • Knowledge of how to strap and secure items on trucks to ensure safe transport.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when handling and storing materials.
  • Comfort working at height on rolling ladders to retrieve products from racks.

The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling around 40 hours per week.
