Job description

Director of Economic Development

Warren County is seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates to fill this full‑time position focused on expanding existing programs and creating new economic development initiatives under the supervision of the County Administrator.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement economic development strategies aligned with County goals.
  • Lead marketing initiatives to attract new businesses and investment.
  • Serve as the primary contact for business recruitment and expansion.
  • Coordinate site visits and manage business prospect activities.
  • Assist with negotiation and execution of incentive and performance agreements.
  • Oversee preparation of economic data, reports, and analyses.
  • Conduct economic impact studies for major projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, agencies, media, and the public.
  • Collaborate with County officials, EDA, and partner organizations.
  • Monitor and report on legislative and economic development activities.
  • Supervise Economic Development staff and related programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field (required).
  • Master's degree or advanced certification preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Special requirements include a CEcD certification from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Salary & Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $104,035.66 depending on qualifications and experience, with a comprehensive benefits package.
